RAWERS!

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE COMING UP SOON!

Dance is like baking a cake.

You can’t lay on any icing until it’s mixed and baked. Don’t dance superficially; move from the inside out. Let your heart and soul be the moist layers of deliciousness.

I think this is a little late but yessir! We got you. haha.

It's Just My Emmangination: CAN I GET EVERYONE'S ATTENTION PLEASE!

3mm4n:

Let me qualify both sides in this heated debate about “so and so” saying “such and such” about “so and so”.

It was just her opinion.

Then again, thinking about how “so and so” was a part of RYPE/ Pride Rice and then saying “such and such” really isn’t justifiable considering a few things.

Hey guys! It’s Emman. I was on YouTube and I came across these videos from Vibe XVI this January. The reason why I’m posting these videos up, is because I wanted you guys to experience the rawness of tech rehearsals at these competitions and events.

I’m not comparing us to these teams. I just wanted you guys to see the consistency these teams retain throughout their sets. Yeah, I know, they’re adult teams, and that they’ve been dancing longer, and they’ve built their bodies up to hold up and last like they do, but that’s not really my point. One thing that I want you guys notice is their energy. Especially GRV. Their energy from beginning to end, even in the slow piece, never drops and never fluctuates, it stays consistent throughout their set.

Personally, I love the rawness of tech rehearsals. To me that’s when your execution, conviction, character, facials, levels, placements, holds, milks, transitions, cleans, adjustments, and mentality should be their keenest and at their peak because at tech there’s that overwhelming rush of energy and anticipation because that’s probably the first time a portion of the dance community will see what you’ve worked so hard to put together and showcase. That’s when you need to bring your A game, B game, and C game.

Second to the actual performance, tech rehearsals are when you set yourself up for success or failure. The house may not be full, but for the few that are there, those are the one’s you should give a show to. That’s your time to get your mind right, kill that ish, and leave everything on the dance floor!

Always go FULL OUT!

Treat tech rehearsals like the real thing because…it is.

And remember, dance for your team, not yourself.

A team composed of full-out individual efforts looks and feels worse than a team composed of okay, but unified efforts.

I hope that made sense.

Listen. Learn. Share. Grow.
